Quick answer

Yes, Moroccan students can apply for scholarships in China

There is no single “China scholarship.” Government, provincial, university and specialized scholarships have different eligibility rules, coverage, application channels and deadlines.

01 / Types

What types of scholarships are available in China?

Do not limit your search to one scholarship name. The scholarship type affects where you apply, what can be covered and who can compete for it.

01Chinese Government Scholarships (CSC)

CSC includes multiple programs and pathways. The application method, degree level, major, university and deadline depend on the specific scheme.

02Provincial and city scholarships

Some local governments support international students with full or partial funding.

03University scholarships

Chinese universities may offer their own scholarships or tuition waivers, with different coverage and renewal rules.

04Specialized scholarships

Some funding targets language study, specific fields or cooperation programs and may not suit every applicant.

02 / CSC

Type A and Type B: what is the difference?

These labels are common within Chinese Government Scholarship pathways, but applicants should always check the current call because the channel, university and deadlines may change.

A

Type A · Dispatching authority route

Usually linked to a nominating or dispatching authority in the applicant’s country, depending on the program. For Morocco, we verify the current call instead of assuming one fixed route every year.

B

Type B · University route

Usually linked to a specific Chinese university. Many universities require both a CSC application and a separate university application.

The first decision is not A versus B. Start with your degree, major and realistic universities, then confirm the official pathway available for the current season.

03 / Coverage

Full or partial scholarship? Check every line of coverage

The word “scholarship” does not automatically mean every cost is covered. Some schemes fund several items while others offer only partial support.

Before accepting an offer, read the official scholarship notice or university page to confirm exactly what is funded and what remains your responsibility.

04 / Eligibility

Who can apply for scholarships?

Every program sets its own rules. We do not apply one universal age, grade or language threshold to all scholarships.

Grades and academic record
Age if specified
Program language and language proof
Nationality and academic status
Eligible majors
Study or research plan

Morocco update · 2026

Ambassador Scholarship: a new initiative from the Chinese Embassy in Morocco

In September 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Morocco held the first edition of its Ambassador Scholarship and recognized 13 Moroccan students.

We do not assume a future edition will use the same criteria or dates. Any new call should be checked directly with the Embassy or official source.

05 / Documents

Documents for a scholarship application

This is a general baseline. Graduate and competitive scholarships may require additional materials.

Passport
Academic certificates
Transcripts
Language proof if required
Medical exam if required
Master’s and PhD applications may also require a study or research plan, recommendation letters, a CV, pre-admission or supervisor contact depending on the scheme.

06 / Application

How do you build a strong scholarship application plan?

A common mistake is waiting for one universal “scholarship deadline.” Deadlines differ across funding bodies and universities and can be months apart.

01

Assess the profile

Degree, major, language, grades and budget.

02

Choose pathways

Compare CSC, local and university scholarships.

03

Prepare documents

Certificates, transcripts, language proof, study plan and recommendations if needed.

04

Apply and follow up

Some routes require more than one platform.

05

Result and admission

Academic admission and scholarship decisions can be separate.

07 / Common mistakes

Do not let the word “scholarship” push you into random applications

  • Assuming one deadline applies to every scholarship in China.
  • Assuming academic admission guarantees funding.
  • Missing a required parallel university application.
  • Choosing a university only because it is famous.
  • Submitting a generic study plan.
  • Trusting “guaranteed scholarship” promises or unverified success rates.

Frequently asked questions

What Moroccan students ask about scholarships in China

Direct answers with a clear distinction between general guidance and details that must be checked in the current call.

Are scholarships in China available to Moroccan students?

Yes. Moroccan students can apply for several government, local, university and specialized scholarships depending on their profile.

Are all CSC scholarships fully funded?

No. CSC programs and pathways are not all identical. Applicants should read the official coverage for the scheme and target university.

What is the difference between Type A and Type B?

Type A is usually associated with a nominating or dispatching authority, while Type B is usually linked to a specific Chinese university. Details should be checked each season.

Does university admission mean I received the scholarship?

Not necessarily. Academic admission and the funding decision can be separate stages.

Can I apply for scholarships after high school?

Yes for some scholarships and bachelor’s programs. Other schemes are limited to master’s, PhD or specific programs.

Do I need Chinese language skills?

Not always. It depends on the program language and the scholarship or university requirements.

What documents matter most?

Usually passport, academic certificates and transcripts, with possible language proof, study or research plan, recommendations and medical documents depending on the scheme.

When do scholarship applications open?

There is no single date. Deadlines vary by funding body and university and can be months apart.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?

Sometimes, but rules on holding or combining awards vary. Always follow each scheme’s terms.

Does ECAP guarantee a scholarship?

No. ECAP helps assess, select, prepare and follow the application, but the funding decision belongs to the university or scholarship body.

What is the Ambassador Scholarship in Morocco?

The Chinese Embassy in Morocco launched the initiative in 2026 to support and encourage more Moroccan students to study and exchange in China.

When do I pay ECAP?

ECAP does not charge its service fee before admission. Any separate university or third-party fee is explained independently.
